TIGER (Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery) is one of the many federal programs investing in the Green Impact Zone.

Specifically, TIGER funds in the zone are aimed towards improving the following transportation infrastructure projects to help revive the community:

  • Install better bus-stop amenities
  • Improve traffic-signals
  • Build a pedestrian bridge under the Troost Avenue Bridge
  • Resurface sections of major streets
  • Sidewalk rehabilitation (construction set to begin in August) for the following locations:
    • 39th Street to Troost to Prospect
    • Boulevards and parkways
    • 43rd to Troost to Prospect
    • 51st Street to Troost to Swope Parkway and Prospect, and 39th Street to Emanuel Cleaver II
